Christian Lefèvre presents Je préférerais ne pas, a body of work that draws on Bartleby's quiet resistance as a starting point for visual meditation. Through painting, drawing, and mixed media, Lefèvre examines the spaces between action and inaction, presence and absence.
The exhibition brings together recent works created during the artist's residency at Oficina Impossível, where the studio environment and the neighbourhood of Santos became integral to the creative process. Each piece invites the viewer to pause, to reconsider the value of stillness in an age of constant motion.
Presented in partnership with ALFA — Association Luso-Française d'Art, this exhibition continues the gallery's commitment to fostering dialogue between French and Portuguese artistic communities.
