Pedro Amaro
Pedro Amaro was born in Lisbon (1991). He studied architecture and fine arts, and his commitment to painting deepened during the years he lived in Berlin, from 2016 to 2019. Now back in Portugal, he divides his time between architecture and art. Architecture offers him the possibility of approaching painting as a construction — an encounter of materials that interact and express themselves through their tactile, visual, or chromatic qualities. His artistic practice is marked by works created from fragments of paper and other materials. His collage‑construction technique aims for complete freedom — the ability to change everything at any moment. He is drawn to deconstruction and constant experimentation. He does not use predefined formats: the collage itself becomes the support, the technique, and the material.
