Zahir
Daniela Aguila
17 June – 18 July 2025
A solo exhibition inspired by Borges's concept of the Zahir — an object that, once seen, can never be forgotten.
Daniela Aguila's Zahir takes its name from the Jorge Luis Borges short story about an object so vivid it becomes an obsession. Through painting and mixed media, Aguila explores the idea of images that persist in memory — visual fragments that refuse to fade.
The works in this exhibition are characterised by their intensity of colour and layered compositions, drawing on the artist's Chilean heritage and her experience of living between South America and Europe. Each piece functions as a kind of visual talisman, demanding repeated viewing.
This exhibition marked Aguila's debut at Oficina Impossível and was met with critical attention from the Lisbon art community.
