Passages
Jacques Lemerre
10–31 May 2025
A photographic journey through transitional spaces — doorways, corridors, and thresholds between worlds.
Jacques Lemerre's Passages is a photographic meditation on the spaces we move through without noticing — doorways, corridors, stairwells, and the liminal zones between public and private life. Shot across Lisbon, Paris, and several smaller European cities, the series captures moments of transition with a quiet, contemplative eye.
Lemerre's large-format prints transform these overlooked architectural elements into subjects of beauty and mystery. The play of light and shadow through narrow passages creates compositions that are at once documentary and deeply personal.
Presented in partnership with ALFA — Association Luso-Française d'Art, this exhibition continues the gallery's programme of showcasing French artists working in dialogue with Portuguese culture and landscape.
