Oficina Impossível

Jean-Pierre Gaudin's L'art du carton et l'esprit du temps elevates the most ordinary of materials — cardboard — into a medium for artistic expression. Through meticulous cutting, folding, and assembling, Gaudin creates sculptural forms that comment on our relationship with packaging, consumption, and waste.

The works range from intimate tabletop pieces to larger architectural constructions that transform the gallery space. Each piece retains the visible traces of its origin — brand logos, shipping labels, handling marks — as a deliberate reminder of the material's journey from commodity to art object.

This exhibition was Gaudin's first presentation in Lisbon and attracted attention from both the art community and the broader public interested in sustainability and creative reuse.
