Fly me to the moon
Cláudia Clemente
7–20 December 2024
A dreamlike solo exhibition blending painting and installation to explore longing, flight, and the pull of distant horizons.
Cláudia Clemente's Fly me to the moon is a poetic exploration of desire and distance. Through a series of paintings and spatial interventions, Clemente conjures landscapes that exist somewhere between memory and imagination — places we long to reach but can never quite arrive at.
The exhibition title, borrowed from the classic song, sets the tone for a body of work that is at once nostalgic and forward-looking. Clemente's palette of deep blues, silvers, and warm ochres evokes night skies and sunlit horizons in equal measure.
Presented in partnership with ALFA — Association Luso-Française d'Art, this exhibition was one of the highlights of the gallery's 2024 winter programme.
