A collective exhibition exploring the colour blue as metaphor, material, and emotional landscape.
Blue, sudden and wide brought together a group of artists working across painting, photography, and installation to explore the many dimensions of the colour blue — from the Mediterranean to melancholy, from the sky to the spiritual.
Presented as a collaboration between Le troisième Étage (Alliance Française) and Oficina Impossível, the exhibition created a dialogue between French and Portuguese artistic perspectives on colour, light, and emotion. The gallery space was transformed into an immersive environment where blue became not just a visual element but an atmosphere.
The exhibition title, drawn from a line of poetry, captured the sense of surprise and expansiveness that the colour blue can evoke — sudden as a flash of sky through clouds, wide as the ocean viewed from the Santos waterfront.
